The above Afro-Cuban, Afro-Peruvian, Latino & Middle-Eastern rhythms are traditionally played with instruments from these cultures, such as congas, bongos, djembes, cajons & darbukas. Yet although these rhythms were originally made for particular instruments, they will still sound great on any instrument. One of the great qualities of rhythm is that it transcends instruments and sound great not only on drums and percussion, but also on strings, brass, woodwind, electric & so on. You can begin and develop a jam with any rhythm. Just keep your mind and ears open and let your body respond, and dance, to the patterns. Have fun!
