Candido Camero
Legendary drummer Candido Camero was born in Havana barrio in 1921. He is an innovator and master conguero.
First, he is heralded as the father of the technique of coordinated independence, a polyrhythmic style of playing. Plus, he is one of the, if not the, originator of multiple conga playing. While most players were using one conga he was playing three.
Throughout his career Candido has played and recorded with countless legends, including Tony Bennett, Mario Bauza, Lena Horne and Machito.
Candido prefers LP congas and has been using and endorsing them for decades. Now, LP is honoring him through the special, 28", Candido Congas.
