About the Darbukas on Artdrum

Artdrum sells a variety of metal, Turkish, Pakistani and Egyptian, darbukas. The shells of our Middle East darbukas are typically made from brass, copper, aluminum & nickel. We also have metal as well as ceramic shell drums from Egypt. The heads on the drums range from fish skin heads to goat skin heads to plastic heads, to Remo synthetic heads, which have animal skin texture and response.

Generally, the darbukas have clear & crisp high tones as well as soothing bass tones. Artdrum offers drums that produce a wide range of pitches. Our darbukas are commonly used by Middle Eastern percussionists, belly dancers, drum circle enthusiasts and even Latin percussionists.
